  • From the top right corner, tap on the icon that resembles a speaker (devices icon)
  • Click on ‘add ne device’ form the new screen
  • Follow the Wi-Fi setup guidelines and go back to Google Home app once the process is completed
  • Click on the continue option. A code will be displayed on your screen and smart device. Click on next
  • Select your region and choose a name for your Chromecast.

Once this is done, you can link Chromecast to Google Home. to do so:

  • Go to setting from your Google Home app on your smart device
  • Navigate to the TV & speakers tab and click on the + icon
  • Click on the device you choose to link to Google Home (Chromecast)
  • Follow the instructions to link and click on done once completed

How to use Google Home with Netflix

After Chromecast is set up with your Google Home, you can use the voice command to control your TV. You can stream content from numerous services, including Netflix. All you have to do is issue a voice command such as ‘ok google, play Netflix on Chromecast.’ This will command your TV to connect to Netflix to access your favorite TV shows.

On the other hand, it is possible to use Google Home to command your TV to perform other functions while you watch Netflix shows. Some of the commands include pausing, playing, resuming, stopping, or skipping. You can also use voice commands to turn captions and subtitles on or off, or even to choose the preferred subtitle language.

If your TV comes with HDMI-CEC options, enabling his function can make it possible for you to turn your TV on and off through Google Home. It is also possible for Google Home to switch to HDMI input whenever you send a command for your TV to play Netflix content.   • Go to setting from your Google Home app on your smart device
  • Navigate to the TV & speakers tab and click on the + icon
  • Click on the device you choose to link to Google Home (in this case it is your Chromecast TV)
  • Follow the instructions to link and click on done once completed

Once this setup is complete, you will be able to control streaming apps on your Chromecast in-built TV, including Netflix. Since the Chromecast comes pre-installed in the TV, issuing a command through Google Home will automatically command your TV to switch to the app.

With Chromecast built-in TVs, it is not yet possible to turn your TV on and off. This feature may be available in the future.
